There are also two levels of
'reporting' within the Excel Traffic Office System. Firstly, within the core system there
are a number of commonly requested standard reports. These reports are pre-defined in a
picking list menu style and can be run as often as required.
In addition to the standard reports the user has a choice of also
creating their own reports in well known user friendly environments such as Microsoft
Excel and Microsoft Access using the ODBC data link tool. Examples of this type of report
are:-
As the link is export only, there is no danger of
overwriting the central system. In this way if mistakes are made when creating a report
the user can just delete and start again without jeopardising overall system integrity.
Using these reporting facilities, even key data such as Payroll information can be
reported on and analysed accurately. The data can be displayed graphically giving the user
a clearer picture of the results.
